Lewis Hamilton has apparently promised Nicole Scherzinger a family.
The 35-year-old singer and the Formula 1 racing driver dated on and off from 2008, but called it quits in July this year.
It had been claimed one of the reasons for the split was 28-year-old Lewis’ commitment issues, but now it seems there could be new hope for the pair.
“Lewis has told Nicole that he wants them to give their relationship another go – and if they’re still together in six months, he’s agreed to try for a baby,” a source told British magazine Star.
“These are the words Nicole has been waiting to hear for years. A family of her own is so important to her. She’s not sure why and how Lewis has changed his mind, but she’s over the moon that they now both want the same thing.”
Their busy schedules could also have taken a toll on their relationship.
While sportsman Lewis has a calendar of racing events, Nicole is a judge on The X Factor UK.
Since their break-up, Lewis has often hinted at his distress, tweeting heartbroken messages, while Nicole has admitted the situation “sucks”.
“Lewis knows he would be stupid to lose Nicole just because he doesn’t want kids right now,” the insider explained.
“He wants children at some point, so if it’s a little sooner than planned, it’s just something he’ll have to adapt to.”
Recently, rumours were rife the couple had entered into reconciliation talks.
Lewis is thought to have spent seven hours in the former Pussycat Doll’s hotel room last month.
